Obituaries Thomas Lovejoy


Thomas Lovejoy, 62, of Salem, died September 6, 2010, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, after a two-year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Boston, grew up, and was


schooled in Somerville, MA. He was a resident of Salem for the past 15 years, and was formerly of Reading, MA. Mr. Lovejoy was a


Programmer-Analyst for Zwicker and Associates P.C. in Andover, MA. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, and golf. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan.


He was also an Air Force veteran, having served


during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine


(Ferguson) Lovejoy of Salem; two daughters, Melissa Lovejoy of Nashua, and Stephanie Lovejoy of Salem; brother, Ronald Lovejoy of Tampa, FL; sister, Barbara Salvo of Reading; mother-in-law, Helen Ferguson of Burlington, MA; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.

William S. Champagne William S. Champagne, 66, of Salem, died


August 14, 2010, in Boston, MA. William was born in Somerville and grew up in Billerica, MA. For many years William owned and operated Champagne Roofing. More recently, for the past 15 years, he owned and operated First Choice


Roofing. William dedicated his life to his family. He leaves his loving wife, Ann Champagne of Salem, and his beloved cat, Chico. Arrangements were under the direction of the Goundrey and Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem.


Eric W. Schofield


Eric W. Schofield, 49, of Salem, died peacefully September 6, 2010, at his home. He was born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Warren M. and Carol E. (Costello) Schofield. He was a life-long resident of Salem, graduating from Salem High School in 1979. Eric was a mechanical fitter for Rigaku


Corporation in Salem. He was also an avid musician and drummer for 40 years. He loved muscle cars, music and his motorcycle. He is survived by his brother, Gary Schofield of Salem; his niece, Cassandra Schofield of Salem; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many friends.
