a part of the community
Get involved in our vibrant and welcoming campus and local community, enjoy the endless recreational activities in the Black Hills, and make valuable connections through local and worldwide internships and volunteer programs.
BHSU and the Arts
BHSU is a part of the Black Hills arts scene, collaborating with community members to host concerts, plays, and special events, like the Johanna Meier Opera Theatre Institute, Summer Theatre performances, and the Lakota Omniciye Powwow.
Our students not only participate in campus performance groups, they are also involved in numerous aspects of our local community performances.
Student Internships Area businesses welcome student interns and provide valuable work experience and network building opportunities.
Undergraduate and graduate students conduct research with faculty members across every discipline. This exposure to research methodologies and equipment benefi t those who go on to professional or graduate schools.
Not only do these experiences enhance your college experience and help you build valuable connections, they benefi t our local and regional communities and contribute to a stronger global society.
