EDITORIAL Composites on show
The Aero Engineering 2010 show opens its doors once again at the end of this month to showcase the latest innovations within the aerospace industry. The event prides itself on its wealth of engineering-centric
attractions that act as focal points for business development within the aerospace supply chain, together with a showcase of industry partners and suppliers supporting the UK’s aerospace sector. Following on from the format of its previous show held in Manchester last year, Aero Engineering’s intensive two-day trade fair will be bolstered by the addition of a new event: The Composites Engineering Show. This development is noteworthy for two reasons. Firstly, it’s
about time that the engineering talent within the UK’s composite manufacturing industry had a stage from which to shout about the innovations this burgeoning sector offers – not only in the aerospace industry, but other sectors like autosport, wind energy/power generation, military, marine and some consumer applications too. Secondly, Aerospace Manufacturing’s publishers, MIT Publishing, will be launching a new supplement during the event called Composites in Manufacturing (CiM). Hopefully, CiM will help grow the awareness of composite
materials and manufacturing technology and keep professional engineers informed of the latest industry developments. Its aim is to keep readers informed of the latest developments in the sector and provide the knowledge required to be successful in the production of composites. On behalf of Aerospace Manufacturing, I look
forward to seeing you at this major event in the UK’s aerospace calendar.
