Lovers of literature will get the chance to fi nd out more about some of their favourite writers during the 10th Wolds Words festival in October.
Headliners at the event, which centres around the beautiful Lincolnshire towns of Louth and Alford, include Gervase Phinn, Charles Collingwood – aka Brian Aldridge from The Archers – and John Kettley.
Bestselling author Gervase Phinn, who is best known for his witty recollections of life as a school inspector in his native Yorkshire, is Out of the Woods But Not Over the Hill is published.
Among the events for children are lessons in hugging from a cuddly koala and his chums in the theatre production How the Koala Learnt to Hug.
“Wolds Words is very defi nitely a celebration of reading, writing and performance and it’s amazing to be able to bring so many well-known names to Lincolnshire,” said co-artistic director Sara Bullimore.
“We’ve worked hard to produce a programme which we hope will have a broad appeal – you can listen to an author, sign up for a writing workshop, enjoy a walk on the Wolds with a literary theme or even take a turn around the dance fl oor at our tea dance.”
The main festival runs from October 20 to 24 and Festival Fringe events run from October 18 to 30.
