23 Anglesey Road, Aldershot
You’ll find this unusual and exuberant garden on a 1930s housing estate on the edge of Aldershot, with three gardens in one around the house which stands just 12 feet from the road. It’s been packed with plants by owners Adrian and Elizabeth Whiteley and is constantly evolving, from the sun-loving Mediterranean feel in the front garden, the shady fern border linking to the trees, shrubs, pool and greenhouse at the back. Just 28 feet wide, good use is made of the irregular length of the back garden by a striking geometric layout softened by dense planting of rare and better known plants giving year-round interest. Evergreen shrubs give permanent structure
