“Thumbs up to Melissa at Sapphire salon. My hair has never looked better. I always look forward to our appointments. You have no problem telling it like you sees it and that’s what I love about you. P.S. I miss your sweet little dog Elvis. It would always brighten my day when he would greet me at the door.”

“Thumbs down to the people on Belknap Rd who feel the need to have a bonfire almost every night. Did you ever think that it is summer and your poor neighbors probably want to sleep with their windows open without smelling that smoke all night? Have some respect, and I hope you have a permit!”

“Thumbs down to the LMS Volleyball coach for extending tryouts for certain kids to attend. How about the kids who listened to your “rules” and did not go on vacation or cut their vacation short to make sure they were at tryouts? I have a suggestion… Do what

Campbell did this year and just pick the team you want and then hold fake tryouts just for show. School politics at its best.“

“Thumbs down to Hudson Memorial School’s choice of summer reading for the incoming sixth graders; “The Whipping Boy”. The story may be close to grade level, but the vocabulary and writing style is anything as such. I reckon we’ve been flummoxed!”

“Thumbs up to the thumbs

down about HPD car 12 speeding on route 93. I saw a similar incidence driving home from Boston one day--just flying down the highway--flew right past me. I ended up going to the police station to see what the

“Thumbs down to the

Litchfield Fire Chief. How come you are charging the town for 8 hours a week in case the phone rings? You get a salary plus hourly pay, plus this? Do the Selectmen know this? Previous chiefs shared the duties with their officers. We would like to get some of this gravy too…how about this chief?”

“Thumbs down to the line painting department for using reflective paint. The roads in new Hampshire are horrible when wet, dirty or even dark. If you spend a little more money on the public safety through prevention you will spend a lot less on public safety through accident and management clean up.”

“Thumbs up to Adamos in Hudson. My family had an unexpected occasion that required feeding a large number of people. The service and honesty received from the staff member at Adamos was second to none. She went out of her way to give us suggestions on ordering to make it the most cost effective. She delivered our food hot for 75+ people. Everything was excellent from the deli sandwiches to the hot platters. The price and service could not be beat. Thank you.”

“Thumbs up to “losers” who

throw great food filled parties. May they celebrate another 40 years more.”

“Thumbs down to the

Litchfield Fire Chief. How about letting the rest of your personnel know that you are taking the town’s fire equipments and your favorite firefighters to Hudson Old Home Days. We may have liked to go and get paid to play too! The taxpayers will love this.”

“Thumbs down to dentists who don’t know the difference between natural whites and false chompers.”

“Thumbs down to the organizers of the comedy night fundraiser for Zachary Tompkins, I called to inquire about purchasing of tickets but I first wanted to know what kind of comedy this was be. The woman who answered my phone call had informed that she had previously heard all these comedians and they occasionally use the “f” word, adding that it would not be appropriate for children. Bringing kids was not my intention. I was contemplating buying tickets for my son and his wife who are in their late 30’s.

quickly changed my mind. I don’t want any part of booze and the “f” word. This is a disgraceful way to fundraise for sweet Zachary.”
