Known for its mix of old


and new and with its em- phasis on Asian art, the chi-lin Gallery in Mere- dith presents four diverse artists’ works from now


through mid-September. Exhibitions – “Second


Life,” a series of recycled artists’ materials sculpt- ed into unique creations representing time and


space, by Sculptor Car- melo Midili, a native of Sicily, “Trees,” a collec- tion of rich colored oils by Patricia Burson, a Bos- ton landscape artist, “Tea and Flowers” a collection of ceramics, influenced by the study of wood fir- ings with Japanese art- ists while abroad in Ja- pan, by John Baymore, who lives in Wilton, New Hampshire and “Summer Work – Lauren Olitski Paintings and Works on Paper,” about the lakes we live within, by Lauren Olitski, a summer resi- dent of Lake Wentworth’s Sister Island. Carmelo Midili, received


a civil engineering degree, specializing in structures, from Politecnico of Torino in Turin, Italy. He gradu- ated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and made his way to New York in 2006 to study at The Art Student League of See GALLERY on 22
