Make Your Mark Exhibition The Daler-Rowney ‘Make Your Mark’ Competition is all about

inspiration and encouraging more children and adults across the world to paint and make their mark. The company wishes to bring unknown talent to the spotlight and highlight the importance of art as play, passion and creativity, whether the artist is a child or an adult. The company further hope, that by encouraging artists to make their mark, they’ll be able to bring the joy of painting into the 21st Century and inspire all generations to express themselves. Over 1800 entries were received from across the world for the ‘Under

12’, ‘Under 18’, ‘Leisure Painter’ and ‘Professional Artist’ categories. Every entry was meticulously reviewed with over 150 short-listed entries chosen. On judging day artists Romeo Di Girolamo, Emma Souter and Richard Collins gathered at Daler-Rowney headquarters to deliberate over each category and select four winners and 16 runners-up. These 20 paintings were chosen to form the exhibit at the ‘Make Your Mark’ exhibition to take place at the Barn Galleries in Aston, near Henley on Thames from the 18th to the 22nd of September. The Winners and Runners-up in the four categories come from 13

countries and symbolise the global reach of this competition. The ‘Under 12 Category’ winner was Raza Hussain, age 10 from Redbridge Primary School, Illford, Essex with a work entitled ‘A French Batchelor’. The ‘Under 18 Category’ winner was Jacqueline Zaubitzer, age 15

from Kleine Malschule Farbenklex, Sommerda, Germany with a work entitled ‘Jacqueline’. The ‘Leisure Painter Category’ winner was Wim Riksen from
