www.kooywoodgallery.com The Gallery lies in the shadows of the National Museum and Galleries of Wales, Cardiff, in Museum Place, the hear t of the capital’s cultural quar ter. Opening in November 2004, The Kooywood Gallery showcases the very best of established and emerging Welsh ar tists; mixing regular solo and group exhibitions with a revolving display of new paintings, sculptures, ceramics and limited edition prints and lithographs. Exhibitions for the remainder of 2010 include new work by ar tists Liam O’Connor, Rober t McPar tland and Matthew Snowdon, augmented by new work from many of the gallery’s ar tists including Gareth Parry and Wilf Rober ts.

www.artwales.com Mar tin Tinney Gallery, established in 1989 specialises in Welsh and Wales- based ar tists past and present. Moving to its current premises in 2002, after a major refurbishment of a 19th century townhouse it now offers three floors of beautiful exhibition space. The gallery exhibits work by a number of prominent living Welsh ar tists, including Harry Holland, Sally Moore, Gwilym Prichard, Shani Rhys James, Kevin Sinnott and Evelyn Williams, as well as the very best of the younger generation. In addition, they stock work by leading 20th century Welsh ar tists, including Gwen John, Augustus John, Ceri Richards, David Jones, Sir Cedric Morris, John Piper, Graham Sutherland, Josef Herman, Peter Prendergast and Sir Kyffin Williams. There are monthly solo exhibitions in the main gallery, and a constantly changing exhibition of paintings, prints and sculpture on the remaining two gallery floors.

www.albanygallery.com Celebrating its 45th anniversary in November, The Albany Gallery has been based in the same building since it first opened in 1965. The gallery offers a monthly exhibition programme of leading Welsh and British ar tists, and provides a showcase for one man and mixed exhibitions in a variety of media. Exhibitors include Royal Academicians, members of the New English Ar t Club and The Institute of Painters. For thcoming exhibitions include Mike Jones’ evocative por trayal of Welsh heritage and landscape through striking use of colour, showing from 17th September - 9th October. Three landscape painters are showing between 15th October and 6th November. Colin Carruthers uses multiple canvases in a raw and subjective way to create “a sense of ongoing changes in perception” in our landscape. Mhairi McGregor is an internationally award winning ar tist with her stunning depiction of still life flowers. Dionne Sievewright is also showing her atmospheric paintings capturing the changing light throughout the seasons.
