The semi-final of the 2008 World Championships in Manchester between Ramy Ashour and Amr Shabana produced an amazing spectacle between two Egyptians at the top of their game. Irritatingly I could not get away from comments about the quality of the Egyptian players and how much better they are to watch than their English counterparts. I would like to ask the same people their thoughts on the Nick Matthew and James Willstrop encounter in Canary Wharf earlier this year!
