Te record of achievement written by the enrolled Scholars and Fellows continues to make us proud. Te 2010 graduating class included 15 members selected to live on the Lawn, the chair and a vice chair of the Honor Committee, the student representative to the Board of Visitors, the recipient of the Ernest H. Ern Outstanding Student award, the president of the Student Council, the president of the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award recipient, and the president of the Class of 2010. Among


WHEREAS, in accepting chairmanship of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation Richard C. Kellogg Jr. set out to achieve dual objectives of improving the Foundation’s gover- nance and building the Foundation’s new home, and


WHEREAS, under Rick’s untiring leadership the Foundation has effected an agreement with the Alumni Association which will greatly improve the Foundation’s governance, and


WHEREAS, as a direct result of Rick’s vision, perseverance, and commitment the Foundation has successfully financed and built the Foundation’s new home and center for its graduate fellows, and


WHEREAS, his vision for the Jefferson Fellows Center inspired the creation of a physical space that will foster academic excellence and interdisciplinary conversation of the highest order, and


WHEREAS, he has always and consistently led the Foundation with exceptional grace, humility, and wisdom, and


WHEREAS, he has always and consistently placed the interests of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation ahead of any competing forces or other distractions, and


WHEREAS, and foremost, he personally represents the highest ideals of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship, now therefore the Board of Directors of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation hereby extends to Richard C. Kellogg Jr. its enduring gratitude and admiration for a job exceedingly well done.
