ACCEPTABLE USE AGREEMENT The Bedford School District believes that the use of technology significantly alters the information land- scape for schools by opening classrooms to a broader array of resources. To ensure these resources are properly used, students must abide by the following guidelines:
When using the Internet, students will... • search only under the direct supervision of an adult
• only access Internet sites independently that a teacher bookmarked or appear on the district web site.
• obey copyright laws when using information from the Internet
• not give out personal information on the Inter- net
• tell an adult when something on the Internet makes them feel uncomfortable.
When using the school’s computers, students will ... • keep their password confidential • save only school related materials • remove outdated files from their folders • have teacher permission prior to printing.
Inappropriate use of technology may result in loss of technology privileges and, in serious and/or repeated cases, may result in further disciplinary action.
