Ross A. Lurgio Players is a drama program for stu- dents in grades 7 and 8. The Ross A. Lurgio Players produce a show that could be a musical comedy, variety show, or dramatic production. In order for students to become cast members in the show or be selected to work on the stage crew, they must complete an applica- tion and participate in the auditions. From those who audition, the directors will choose 40 to 50 students. The number will depend on the show being produced. During tryouts for a musical production, students will be required to learn a basic dance routine, sing to demon- strate their vocal tone and range, and act in a short scene with one or more students. If a musical is being produced, students with choral and dance experience will have an advantage. All students are encouraged to audition, but will have to realize that they might not be chosen due to the limited number of part assignments.
