34 Aug. 21 - Sept. 3, 2010 Letters to theEditor from Page 33

A resident of Chandler for more than 25 years, Trinity brings intelligence, experience and integrity to the Chandler City Council. She studies her informational packet voraciously, does her homework on each item, asks tough questions and listens to her constituents. She balances city staff recommendations with taxpayer concerns, factors in the ramifications of each council decision, and makes the tough decisions required of a city councilmember.

Trinity Donovan is an elected official with the courage to do right for the majority of Chandler’s citizens. She does not cave in to special interest groups, and she does not align herself with any other councilmembers on a regular basis. Instead, she votes on each item after careful study, lots of listening and weighing the consequences of each decision, both financially and in terms of its effects on Chandler citizens and taxpayers. Keep Trinity Donovan on the Chandler City Council. Vote for her in the early voting process or on Aug. 24. Audrey Ryan, Ryan Estates

Taylor takes time to listen I rarely take the time to actively get involved in political causes. However, today I have chosen to write in support

of Scott Taylor for Chandler City Council.

Scott has made the decision to step aside from the private business sector, where he has run a successful insurance firm, to serve the people of Chandler.

I have never met someone as driven and passionate about not just giving back to the community but actually making it a better place. Scott has literally spent hundreds of hours going door to door to meet the residents of Chandler to hear about the issues most important to them. By taking the time to listen, he understands the best way to address local concerns within our community.

I encourage you to learn more about him on his website www. taylor4chandler.com. His goals are to attract new companies to Chandler; make sure our neighborhoods are safe and clean; and maintain effective government spending.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, Arizona Corporate Commissioner Gary Pierce, County Supervisor Fulton Brock, Paradise Valley Mayor Vernon Parker and Secretary of State Ken Bennett are just a few who have given their public endorsement to Scott.

I for one appreciate his willingness to serve his community and encourage

everyone to vote for Scott Taylor in Chandler’s upcoming election. Jonas R. Funston, Sienna at Markwood North

Reasons to re-elect

Jones for Constable The business of running an apartment community is a unique challenge that requires very specific knowledge and understanding of the law from all people involved. It is because of this requirement that I, without question, endorse James Kevin Jones in his mission to be re-elected as Constable.

With 17 years of experience, Constable Jones has been nothing less than professional and supportive of our apartment community and office staff when his services are needed. He responds quickly to our property with a sound understanding of the law that allows him to be firm but understanding towards our residents. When an apartment staff member is required to accompany Constable Jones in his duty, that staff member will not feel intimidated by the situation as they know while Constable Jones will never escalate a situation. He also does not waiver when faced with conflict.

As a regional manager who has worked in the office of many apartment communities for over 30 years, I have had the experience of constables not showing up until weeks after they were requested and not being supported by constables when a situation became threatening.

I can say with the utmost confidence Constable Jones is the best of the best. He has a proven record and does a great service not only in supporting apartment communities but also in representing the City of Chandler. So on Aug. 24 or before, please vote to re-elect Constable Jones.

Darlene Kosman, regional manager Chandler Cornerstone Apartments, LLC

employment, economy I long for the bygone days of smaller communities when all candidates would gather to plead their cases for election. What was said at those gatherings were typically words that as voters we could bank on. Unfortunately, those times have passed and voters today must take the initiative to go beyond the rhetoric. I’ve now marked my early ballot for Scott Taylor for Chandler City Council. With unemployment and
