Jimmy’s delivers Midwestern meals are now just a phone call away.


The Chicago-style restaurant, located on the northeast corner of Pecos and Gilbert roads, recently began delivering between McQueen and Greenfi eld roads, and between Elliot and Chandler Heights roads.


For those who prefer the Midwestern ambience of Jimmy’s dining room, the restaurant offers happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday karaoke and Sunday morning breakfast starting at 9 a.m.

Ostrich Festival funds go to good cause


Money raised at this year’s Chandler Ostrich Festival by the San Tan Crown Rotary Club will provide scholarships to seven children living on the Gila River Indian Reservation. The children, members of two different families, will attend St. Peters Mission Indian School, south of Sun Lakes. “The club wants to thank everyone who donated to its activities during the festival,” says San Tan Crown Rotary Club President Terry Lubsen. “We’ll be

Chuck Wagon Cook-Off has Oversized sandwiches, pizzas and family-recipe pastas from Jimmy’s of Chicago opening for vendors


Applications for vendor space at the Chuck Wagon Cook-Off, held at Chandler’s Tumbleweed Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13, are due Sept. 10. The event features wagon teams from across the western United States which prepare foods from their authentic chuck wagons, using cooking methods and utensils in the style of those used in 1880s cattle drives. Meals will be available to purchase, and the event will feature stage entertainment, family activities and shopping opportunities.


The Chandler Museum is coordinating the culinary competition and seeks a wide variety of vendors for the family-friendly, alcohol-free festivities. Vendors for food, merchandise, entertainment activities and nonprofi t information are invited to participate. Preference will be given to vendors who specialize in cooking, local foods or history.
