...I have lots of people coming in for their first tattoo - they really appreciate the fact that they are not rushed or
feel part of a queue.

What about the nervous per- son or those who have had bad experiences in the past? I do have a lot of clients who come in for cover-ups for old designs that are no longer something they want to show off or even where past artwork has not been to a good standard. As with all of my clients, I will spend time talking with them and discuss- ing both what they have already and any ideas that they might have. I am patient and conscientious and will always try to turn a negative into something positive! I have on many occasions worked with people to cover scars, be it from operations or accidents where clients have felt paranoid about their look. I think that’s part of why I have lots of people coming in for their first tattoo - they really appreciate the fact that they are not rushed or feel part of a queue.
What kind of customer do
you attract?
Since Dixie Doll tattoo parlour opened I have met some of my best friends. I also have attracted some interesting clientel! Some of them include my 60+ lady who started having tattoos only two years ago and has now stumped up more tat- toos than I have! I have teachers, businessmen and women, ex-squad- ies, with personal stories to tell! Of course I can’t tell you about them, ssshhh…
More recently we have collabo- rated with Zoe Larkins of ‘Love from Hetty and Dave’: check out my headband! She also creates beautiful brooches and welcomes commissions,

Do you use any media other than tattoo ink?
Watercolour is a particular favourite, I love using grey shade with a flash of colour, Sin City Style. I have been known to bring a new lease of life
