Delice de France has recently launched a range of the intriguingly titled, Whoopie Pies, set to delight the foodservice sector and customers with six tempting varieties. A firm favourite in the US


since the Pennslyvanian Amish baked them for their lunchboxes in the 19th century, the Whoopie Pie has recently enjoyed a renaissance in the UK and the company contends


that they are now set to rival the cupcake as the dessert cake of choice. The Traditional Classic


Whoopie selection is available in Belgian Chocolate or Victoria Sponge variety. Strawberry and Lemon


Whoopies offer vanilla flavoured sponge filled and topped with either strawberry or lemon flavoured fudge, hand decorated and topped to perfection with

Coffee roasting company, Lincoln & York, contends that it is one of the first UK coffee roasters to start producing its own range of espresso pods, offering a traditional espresso - a blend of Central and South American, East African and Indian beans. The 14g pods will also be available in Fairtrade and Fairtrade decaffeinated versions, the decaffeinated option offering all the flavour and character


of the beans, but without the caffeine. James Sweeting, director at


Lincoln & York explained, “The individual foil laminate pouches ensure the coffee retains its freshness for at least 12 months. At this stage the pods are aimed predominantly at the out-of- home market and can be used in coffee shops for speciality coffees or in pubs which have low coffee usage - instead of
