Smokehouse Lightning will be performing again at Old Home Days, for the third year, on Saturday, August 14. Smokehouse Lightning was formed in 2007, has come a
long way since its humble beginnings, and has grown in popularity over the past few years. The band has had the honor of opening for national acts such as The Chris Beard Band, Joan Jett, Chicago, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. 2010 is
shaping up to be very eventful –60-plus gigs – with dates at New Hampshire Bike Week and performing at the Blues and Brew Festival on August 21.

Smokehouse Lightning Returns to Old Home Days At the core of Smokehouse Lightning’s sound is guitarist
and vocalist Ryan Kelly. Ryan, a 2010 graduate of Alvirne High School, takes his influences of blues and rock to create a sound that respects the tradition of blues, but also pushes it to its rock boundaries. His talent and feel for the music is well beyond his years and he has been receiving much acclaim as an up-and-coming blues guitarist. Other band members include Hudson residents Alan
Doyle, Harp and Vocals; Dennis Kelly, Bass and Vocals; John Gaudette, Keyboards; and Mark Malysz, Drums. The Smokehouse Lightning set list is filled with an upbeat, entertaining, and danceable mix of Blues, Swing, Boogie, and Classic and Southern Rock. The band’s dynamics and nucleus makes for an outstanding blend of music and sound. Look for Smokehouse Lightning at Old Home Days on Saturday, August 14, from 7-11 p.m.

Have you been to OLD HOME DAYS yet this year?
As the paper went to press on Wednesday night, the Mark Fanelli’s Traveling Amusement Park crews were working to make the Hills House grounds into a carnival, which is set to open on Thursday at 5 p.m. The tents were up and the stage floor was ready for Karaoke by Disco Bob, Smokehouse Lightning, and the Old #7 band to entertain the vistors to the fair on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. The grills were set up and Dave Alukonis has purchased the sausages
for the world- (maybe Hudson) famous sausages with peppers and onions, not to mention his lobster rolls and locally grown corn on the cob. Many other locally known restaurants were getting ready on Tuesday to start feeding all the hungry fair-goers. On Wednesday afternoon, the games were not opened yet, but many reading this have already been to past Old Home Days and had fun, fun, fun.
