Not too big, not too small – our ships are the perfect size for discerning cruisers, so you can enjoy your cruise in style and comfort
Relaxed and individual
Our vessels are all highly individual, as well as being stylish and elegant – perfect for your cruise. They have all the space you need for your comfort and enjoyment, but are small enough to make you feel completely at home.
With a capacity of about 1,300 passengers, Balmoral is our largest and newest vessel. It off ers a wide range of facilities, yet it still has the human scale of all Fred. Olsen cruise ships. It’s the fi rst of our fl eet to have the name of the ancestral Scottish home of the Royal Family and all of the public rooms are titled on a Scottish theme. Ballindalloch, the principal restaurant, is named after a Speyside village and castle: while the ship’s two other formal restaurants are Avon and Spey, which are two of the loveliest Scottish salmon rivers.
Elsewhere, you can eat informally in the Palms Café, while Balmoral also benefi ts from an on-board pub, which has recently been refi tted and off ers evening entertainment as an alternative to the main cabarets and dancing in the Neptune or Lido Lounges. Or you could just relax with a drink while enjoying the wonderful views from the Observatory Lounge: that’s the beauty of Balmoral – the choice is always yours.
Balmoral features two open-air swimming pools, a well-appointed gym where you can exercise while you take in magnifi cent sea-views and open-air golf-nets where you can practice your swing. Of course, you’re on one of our cruises to enjoy yourself, so you don’t need to do anything at all if you just want to relax. We have on-deck Jacuzzis, in which you can sit and chat with friends, or you might want to be pampered with a spa treatment. And in between, why not relax in a comfortable lounger and perhaps top up the tan while enjoying one of the many books from the ship’s excellent on board library?
Balmoral cruises start from Southampton and include voyages to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Canary Islands and the f ords of Norway. There are also two fabulous Grand Voyages, in January 2011 and 2012, with the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most iconic cities
