If you start or end your Grand Voyage in Australia there’s the option of spending up to three nights in a luxury hotel right in the heart of Sydney.
This stopover is ideal for the more independently- minded traveller since it does not feature any escorted tours. What it does do, however, is provide the perfect opportunity to explore at your own pace and to your own agenda. A stroll and a delicious meal. Some shopping and a few drinks. The menu of things to see and do is simply mouthwatering.
With its friendly, down to earth locals, pleasant weather and mix of cultural and scenic attractions, Sydney is indisputably one of the great city destinations. Built around the magnificent deep-water harbour, the metropolitan area is surrounded by national parks and contains a variety of splendid bays, rivers and inlets. Throughout the year, the city’s rich pool of cultural institutions is topped up by a myriad of colourful street festivals.
Even a more leisurely sojourn spent watching the Sydneysiders and their world drift by will leave you plenty of time to take in the most well known of the city’s attractions. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney Tower, Bondi Beach and Botany Bay to name but a few.
One way or another, a few days in one of the most multicultural cities in the world will act as the perfect end or a great beginning to an unforgettable cruising experience.
