Kochek introduces new self-leveling floating strainer
of time. With a powerful siren, combined with light signals, it will attract the necessary attention from the environment, says Evacuaid CEO Fredrik Gulowsen. The market is saturated with different fire detection systems,
fire extinguishers and first aid-kits. Very few offer a solution for enhanced personal safety in the evacuation phase itself, and for those who are responsible or exposed in an evacuation situation. Take a fire warden in a hotel for example. When the alarm is
triggered, what tools does she have in order to protect herself and best evacuate the guest today? At best a reflective vest, but possibly nothing. The same we see in any major office building, the health sector and schools for example. Also in industry and offshore there are very few products can help the workers to more efficiently evacuate. The Evacuaid emergency bracelet is super simple, but a great and completely unique tool that finally helps everybody who needs to evacuate faster and safer, Gulowsen proudly explains. Mr. Gulowsen has contributed to the development of the
Lightweight compact strainer allows maximum flow Kochek Company has introduced a revolutionary new all- aluminum strainer designed with a unique self-leveling float system that makes drafting possible under almost any condition. The high intake ratio allows for maximum volume flow rates
while the vortex shield protects against whirlpooling. The new strainer is the lightest, most compact floating strainer
on the market and is available with threaded, Storz, or camlock connections in a range of sizes. With its balanced handle and light-weight design the new self-leveling strainer is easy to carry and deploy quickly. The compact design of the strainer makes for easy convenient storage. For more than 20 years Kochek Company has manufactured
the highest quality American-made specialty fire equipment for today’s fire industry. Based in Putnam, Connecticut, Kochek is the nation’s largest
manufacturer of PVC light-weight suction hose and a wide variety of strainers, dry hydrants, elbows, adapters, caps, plugs, and valves.

emergency bracelet, which is now being launched. In 2006 the entrepreneurs behind the bracelet won a national Value Creator Prize in Norway. Four years later, the idea is finally fully developed. The product will improve safety in emergency and crisis situations. - We have patented the invention in most of the world and aim to revolutionise the evacuation procedures everywhere, Mr. Gulowsen says proudly. - It is very meaningful making people get to know this product, he continues.
Evacuaid – the emergency bracelet Evacuaid is developed by the Norwegian company bearing the same name, in collaboration with a number of partners in the safety industry, and with support from Innovation Norway and Oslo Innovation Center. Flashlights are a natural part of the personal equipment for all
operational personnel, but our emergency bracelet is so much more than an ordinary flashlight, says Mr. Gulowsen. It attaches easily to the wrist and sends out light and sound signals if the bearer stops moving. The different sound levels were calculated in collaboration with sound engineers, helping to find the most efficient levels and frequencies. In addition the Evacuaid uses Lithium batteries and is maintenance free. The bracelet is also waterproof, making it withstand damp and moisture. Evacuaid may be installed on the wall close to Fire Alarm
Systems Centres, or other strategic locations, making Evacuaid easy to find in case of an emergency. It is also small enough to be worn in a pouch fixed to the belt, as a standard part of working clothes or overalls.
Motion sensor The intelligence of Evacuaid is based on a motion sensor that detects whether the bearer is moving or not. After about 10 seconds without motion the sensor will start a powerful alarm including both sirens and light signals. This alarm can also be started manually if the person finds himself in a situation where it is not possible to achieve some kind of contact or summon help in any way.
