entral Saint Martins graduate, Annabel Johnson launched a new range of handmade vessels entitled 'Slugs Snails and Puppy Dog Tails' at the recent Pulse exhibition. The collection provides a humorous narrative to childhood and to the often- debated issue of growing up too quickly. Its nostalgic theme helps trigger memories in a tongue-in-cheek way. Titles poking fun at social taboos such as ‘Fancy a quickie?’ and ‘Wives and Girlfriends’ emblazoned with the slogan ‘When I grow up I want to be WAG’ are visible on handmade fully glazed cylindrical vessels. The mould making, slip casting and the decoration are all handmade by Annabel; her vessels feature a range of creative mediums combining surface, graphic design and photography along with unique ceramic qualities and the result is a collection of thought provoking collectibles. In 2009 Annabel received an Ethos Housewares Design Award for her surface designs. Exhibitions include London and New York.
