Welcome to the autumn term at citymoves! We hope you’re had a great summer break and are refreshed and ready for a new season of dance classes. This term we have a break during October for our fabulous festival - DanceLive, which features a host of performances and workshops for all ages. We look forward to seeing you soon!


General Information TERM DATES:


ADVANCE 15 MINUTE RULE: WHAT TO WEAR:


Block 1: MONDAY 23 AUGUST – SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER Block 2: MONDAY 1 NOVEMBER – SATURDAY 18 DECEMBER


DROP-IN CLASSES (D) Simply turn up and pay on the door. Admission is on a first come, first serve basis due to maximum class numbers.


For courses it is essential to book and pay in advance, as these


BLOCK BOOKING (B) courses are popular and fill up very quickly. Please return the booking form on the back page to citymoves with payment (cheques made payable to Aberdeen City Council).


To prevent injury, participants more than 15 minutes late will not be allowed into class, as the warm up section will have been missed. Doors are open 15 minutes before a class.


Anything comfortable that allows you to move freely – T shirts and tracksuit trousers or leggings are ideal. Footwear is dependant on class style and for some bare foot is preferable. If you are unsure please phone us. Please note that for all classes we do not allow black-soled trainers or outdoor shoes in the studio because they can damage our floors.


VENUES: Citymoves Studio: Top Floor, above Triple Kirks AB10 1FQ


HMT Studio: Rosemount Viaduct AB25 1GL Entrance is via the stage door (Lower Denburn, off Skene Street)


Methodist Church Hall: Crown Terrace, AB11 6HE. Entrance via the left side. The church hall is on the first floor.


Beach Ballroom (Star Ballroom): Beach Boulevard, AB24 5NR, Entrance via the main doors. The Star Ballroom is signposted.


CONCESSION RATES Concession rates, (shown in brackets), apply adults aged 60 years and above, those on income support, and students in full time education. Proof of ID is required.

NEW TO CLASSES? ENQUIRIES:


There is lift access to citymoves studio and HMT studio. There is no disabled access to the Methodist Church Hall or the Beach Ballroom. We aim to make our classes as accessible as possible to participants with special access needs. Please call us to discuss any support you might need.


Should Citymoves have to close due to adverse weather, this will be announced on our website (www.danceaberdeen.org.uk). Generally Citymoves will be closed if City Centre schools are closed.


If you’re not sure what to expect and are worried about your first visit, please come for a visit in advance. Just call us to arrange.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: Pay as you go: Places are allocated on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability.


Advance block booking: Please note that once you’ve booked for a term, if you miss a week or number of weeks for any reason, we won’t be able to issue a refund. Refunds will only be given if we have to cancel a class due to circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to cancel classes and/or change tutors.
