Naturally sourced innovation
Through continual investment, Aeristo is able to offer innovative leather designed specifically for the aircraft industry
around tight corners
3. Perfect smoothness as the splitting process eliminates any loose fibres from the back side to be bonded to a substrate
4. The splitting process results in a highly consistent final leather thickness that cannot be achieved by conventional skiving processes
5.Weight savings depending on specified leather substance
The introduction of Belvedair leather to Aeristo’s collection captured the current trends towards natural, warm, yet clean hues. The leather’s silky finish and subtle satin sheen brings out the rich character of its natural full grain. Needless to say it was well received by the design industry and contributed to another successful year of Aeristo. With the expansion and move to its new facility, Aeristo now makes further investments in machinery and equipment for value adding services. The latest addition is a $150,000 high
precision leather splitting machine from Germany. In compliance with customer specifications Aeristo can reduce the substance of leather parts from the typical 1.1 - 1.3 mm seating standard to the extreme of 0.3 mm. Aeristo does not recommend reducing leather thickness of stress parts like seating and seat back surfaces, where seems are exposed to stretch and wear. For non-stress areas like outside seat backs, dado panels, outside arms, shrouds and table inlays thinner leather is the perfect choice.
It offers: 1. Improved aesthetics 2. Ease of application, elegant fitting of leather
require its leathers to meet burn specifications already in the earliest stages of production. Like with Aeristo’s well received perforation and embossing offerings, the splitting service also
In addition custom colour matches will be offered. Rotinda complies with Aeristo’s philosophy of environmentally correct production methods using sustainable resources.
Aeristo guarantees that leathers from its own collection will pass FAA burn requirements due to the comprehensive manufacturing processes that
allows the customer to benefit from perfect consistency in colour matching of individual components, because split and unsplit parts originate from the same dyelots. At Aircraft Interiors Expo Americas 2010, Aeristo will introduce “Rotinda”, a stain resistant and flame retardant Nubuck leather, in response to repeated customer enquiries. Rotinda is derived from the Kurdish language and means “sunshine”, reflecting the warmness, natural beauty and origins of this noble leather. The exclusive colour range is made up of deep, vibrant and pure hues inspired by oriental sites.
