“Thumbs up to Rachael Tirone, Michael Fraser, “Thumbs up to Pearl Street Pizza, Kristen

Jensen, Nikki Emerson and my dad for all your help with my lemonade stand! Thank you to my friends, family and the kindness of complete strangers for helping to make our first lemonade stand a success!”

“Thumbs down to the HLN for featuring some lame white pride group on the front page but not even mentioning the Litchfield Teacher who just got 9 years in the big house for child pornography.”

“Thumbs down to my tax payer dollars footing the bill of Dick Cheney’s multimillion dollar heart surgeries. Dick Cheney needs to give that money back to the poor people who have no health care. Dick Cheney has $100 million dollars in assets; shame on him for making hard working Americans pay for his health care.”

“Thumbs down to the uniformed who think

that Dick Cheney’s medical coverage is the same as Obamacare. Congress has exempted itself and government employees from it, they have the Cadillac plan, while you under Obamacare have the Yugo, only a fool would think that he would be better off with it.”

“Thumbs down to those that drive so ignorantly to put others at risk. Especially the black car about 7:30 pm July 20th, illegally passing me on the right just to drive up the next persons backside. Certainly hope someone was dying to explain what you were in such a hurry for. In case you did not know that would be how many ‘accidents’ happen. People like you that pass on the right obviously you do not have a clue about the rules of the road!”

“Thumbs down to Obama. So, how does Obama sleep at night? Does anyone know? How often did he say that with the passage of this Healthcare Bill, we would be able to keep the doctors of our choosing? Alas, the New York Times recently reported that we will, in actuality, be very limited in our choices, and within three years, over 50% of insured people will be off their own insurance plans and onto the government’s. And, didn’t Obama also say over and over again that NO federal dollars would be used to fund abortions? Alas, again, another lie. Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and most recently, Maryland, have all reported allocating thousands of federal money (our tax dollars, by the way) towards the funding of abortions. So, I ask, how does Obama sleep at night and how does anyone believe anything he says? Stay tuned.”

“Thumbs down to the coward

who stole my expensive Weber grill and 20 lb tank from my front yard while I was home. I’m sure your parents are proud of you. When they sober up and find the grill in their yard perhaps they will do the right thing for the first time in their lives and contact the Hudson police. Perhaps someday you’ll

Steven Picard, and Tom Labrie for helping out at my lemonade stand to raise money for Diabetes!”

Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”

in Hudson for lack of handicap parking. Is one designated HC parking space for both strip malls legal or just insensitive?”

“Thumbs up, a huge ‘thumbs up’ to the HLN for featuring the moving article about remembering Lenny Nute. As a Vietnam vet myself, I found it so compelling I read it twice. Kudos to Hudson for keeping Lenny alive over the years and to Buzz Veal for reaching out to the Nute family decades after Lenny’s death. This should be required reading for the younger generation. I’m afraid today’s youngsters know more about what’s on MTV than they know or care about the sacrifices of our men and women serving in harm’s way. You may disagree with Bush for getting us involved and you may also disagree with our current “dude” in office, Mr. Beep Bop Bojangles, and how he is conducting these efforts. But our vets and current volunteers serving in uniform should be respected and remembered.”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson

Negative thumbs comment about the CHS press box. Why do you assume the money is coming from taxpayers? Get the facts before you jump to conclusions. You said: ‘You don’t belong in our town?’, ‘Take your pipe-dreams elsewhere?’ Why did you need to make such a nasty comments? I cannot understand why some people in our community are against bettering our town for the children. What are you so bitter about? Why take your anger out on others, especially the children who are your future?”

his Hudson 10U All Star brothers who finally beat the always tough Litchfield team in the SVI Championship Game! Great job to the coaching staff for their well structured practices and putting it all together for the big games. I can’t believe it’s already over, and I already miss it. Here’s to a great season, and hoping next year’s team will do more of the same. One, two, three ... BROTHERS!”

people who complain about spending for Litchfield Schools and Sports. I am fiscally conservative as well, but you are being ridiculous with your rants against playground equipment and football press box maintenance. If you want to save money, do it at the national level by voting in fiscally conservative senators and representatives. Then take the saving and use it at the local level, where there are less layers of bureaucracy and more of the money goes directly to where it’s needed. Don’t you want to have pride in your community? If you don’t care, then you don’t belong here and we who do have pride ask you to go back to Massachusetts or Maine. I do not have a child in grade school or a child playing football but I support both, because lining my pockets may be nice, but it’s not everything.”

“Thumbs up, way up to the

great Blueberry and Blackberry gift givers on Route 3-A in Litchfield. And, their roadside perennials are a wonderful, small town treat. What a family! They’re the best!!”

“Thumbs down to the NH

Grizzlies - They have try outs coming soon, stay away. Visit NEAAU.ORG for list of teams and upcoming tryouts.”

“Thumbs down!!! I live in

Litchfield and have one of those neighbors that constantly cut his grass whether it needs it or not. He obviously doesn’t have enough to do. Lately he’s been taking it upon himself to cut along the road on public property. I’m sure he thinks he’s making an improvement to the neighborhood. What he probably hasn’t thought about is that if everyone took it upon themselves to make things that don’t belong to them look the way they like it we would have things like pink telephone poles and polka dotted mail boxes. Personally I like the natural look better with the wild flowers and things. I even wonder if he’s breaking the law and could be charged with destruction of public property?”

“Thumbs up to the ‘stay

tuned’ guy! I disagree with last week’s thumbs ‘downer’.... I’ve

been watching the ‘stay tuned’ guy closely and all of his thumbs are factual. You say ‘we see enough of this on TV’... well actually you don’t as the mainstream media (ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN) are all in the tank for Obama. Stories showing the Messiah in a bad light are buried. Stay tuned guy is right... we (America) is heading towards a fork in the road ... it’s going be the biggest decision of your life to either go left or right this fall ... the wrong choice will change this country forever!”

“Thumbs up and congratulations to Rob S., Jr.

for achieving the honor of junior black belt karate. Your family friends and neighbors are extremely proud of you. Great job!”

“Thumbs down to the Obama administration.

Why does Michelle Obama have 22 personal assistants? It’s another case of do what I say not what I do.”

“Thumbs up to the HLN. I can’t wait for

Friday’s mail to get here. It’s the most exciting part of my week. But this ‘stay tuned’ is just driving me insane. This person is biased, totally opposite innocent Obama. I guess he can’t remember what happened during the Bush years. I really wish this person would start writing editorials so we could put a name to these outrageous accusations, so we know who is talking.”
