Residents worry about park’s future North Buncombe

17th annual Firecracker 5K on Saturday (July 3) after finishing second in 2008 and 2009. His mark of 15:16 bested his 2009
time by nearly 30 seconds. He finished more than two minutes ahead of the pack. Hendersonville’s Natasha Tkachuk
was the first female finisher with a time of 18:46. Te race hosted 216 partici- pants. Te North Buncombe Kiwanis Club sponsors the event, and all pro- ceeds go toward scholarships for North Buncombe students. Te top 50 finishers were: Josey Weaver, 15:16; Seth Hendler-
