Optical Training Completion of course prepares you for a career as an Optical Assistant in an optical dispensary. Curriculum is geared for the National Opticianry Competency Exam (NOCE) offered by the American Board of Opticianry. Training includes Theory of Optics, Anatomy of the Eye; Prescription Analysis; Lifestyle Dispensing; Frame Adjustment and Repair. Included in the curriculum is a 40-hour apprenticeship in the Optical Dispensary located at Chevron Refinery. Continuous job placement assistance and resume writing/updates are available for all students. Pell Grant available for those who qualify. Instructor is ABO Certified with 30+ year’s experience. Optical Training 20-Hour Review Prepare for the American Board of Opticianry NOCE by attending a 20-Hour Advanced Review 8 weeks prior to the exam date. This intensive review is offered twice a year for the May and November test. Meeting days are Wed. 2-5pm, for six sessions to review all optical concepts. A mock NOCE will be given on the following Wednesday from 2-4pm. This review is included in the curriculum for students currently enrolled in the Optical Training Program. Certified Nurse Assistant Learn the skills to become certified as a nurse assistant in a long-term nursing care facility. Through course work and hands-on experience at a nursing care facility, you will be prepared to take the CA State Certification exam. Prior to enrollment, students must pass a mandatory assessment test. Class limited to 15 students.

Phlebotomy Technician CPT 1 – an 80-hour program to become an entry level professional in the field of Phlebotomy.
IV Therapy Certification for Health Professionals - prepares students for initiating and/ or maintaining common intravenous therapies. Covers the minimum competencies for California IV certification.
Forensic Phlebotomy — - This program consists of two parts: Students will complete a certified phlebotomy program that includes in school training (5 weeks) and a (80 hours) externship. In addition, student will complete a drub and alcohol training course students will learn; DOT urine collection procedures and the use of the DOT Custody and Control Form (CCF). Students perform five mock collections that meet the training requirements of the DOT regulations. All training materials and training in this course will provide up-to-date DOT regulatory information and the latest in learning technology. After completion of this course, students will receive a certification of completion and qualify to sit for the DOT and NCCT exam.

Module 3 Peace Officer Training This is the first of three modules of the Regular Basic Course Modular format for peace officer training and is a prerequisite to Module 2. Course content is a minimum of 147 hours and meets the classroom requirements for the student to function as a Level 3 Police Reserve Officer. For further information, go to
