Save the Dates for Monthly Dancing Nights
D
ancing returns to MAC this fall. Beginning in September, the club hosts a variety of dancing events that include live music and dance instruction. Dance instruction is from 7:30-8:30 p.m., and bands play from 8:30-11 p.m. Kicking off dancing at MAC is the Ramsey Embick Trio featuring Shelly Rudolph Friday, Sept. 10. Ramsey Embick was the musical director for The Pointer Sisters during their run of hits in the ‘80s and is considered by many to be one of the most gifted pianists in the area. Rudolph is one of Portland’s most popular vocalists. She performs regularly at The Brasserie Montmartre, at the Lake House with Tom Grant, and at many jazz venues in Portland. Playing a mix of Latin, R&B, swing, jazz and pop, this trio gets members out on the dance floor. Quick Register ME560

The Notables perform Saturday, Oct. 23. Members dance to popular favor- ites from the 1920s through the 50s: swing, Las Vegas, Broadway, American songbook, early rock and roll, and a few country clas- sics.
