Have you ever wondered what it would be
like to save someone’s life? On behalf of all the patients searching Be The Match RegistrySM (BTM) for a matched donor, Central Oregon Wellness Connection is pleased to offer you a chance to find out. Every day, thousands of patients with
leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases hope for a marrow donor who can make their transplant possible. Seventy percent
of these patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They turn to the BTM for someone who can give them hope for a cure. Patients are most likely to match someone who shares their heritage; therefore some patients can have a harder time finding a donor. BTM is dedicated to creating an opportunity for all patients to receive the marrow transplant they need, when they need it. The majority of donations do not involve surgery. Today, the patient’s doctor
most often requests a peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) donation, which is non- surgical. The second way of donating is marrow donation, which is a surgical procedure. In each case, donors typically go home the same day they donate. All expenses for the donor are covered. Please join us on Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 10:00am – 4:00pm, at Naturally
