Plants: A Different Perspective


• Photo-orientation: The changing of chloroplast positions contingent upon light intensity. When light intensity is high, chloroplasts move to the edge of the cell to reduce photobleaching that is highly destructive to chloroplasts. When light intensity is low, chloroplasts spread out within the protoplasm to maximize light capture for photosynthesis.
