Knox Road to reopen July 18


Knox Road, between Hartford Street and Pleasant Drive, is scheduled to reopen on Sun., July 18.


The road was closed to allow for a raised crosswalk to be built at Evergreen Street. A detour takes westbound traffi c from Arizona Avenue, south on Hartford Street to Orchid Lane, and west on Orchid Lane, which turns into Pleasant Drive. Pleasant Drive curves around and ties back into Knox Road, west of the closure.

Chandler Council candidate Scott Taylor reports he received the endorsement of local Chandler public leader Bob Robson, who served on the Chandler City Council during the 1990s and as vice mayor of Chandler. Taylor says he has also been endorsed by Professional Firefighters; Gary Pierce, AZ Corp. Commission; Paul Babeu, Pinal County Sheriff; Fulton Brock, Maricopa County supervisor; Vernon Parker, mayor of Paradise Valley; Ken Bennett, AZ Sec. of State; Annette Auxier, president of Chandler school board; Bob Rice, Chandler school board; Frank Nechvatal, president of Sunbird HOA; Betti Sue Perkins and Chuck Warren, Sunbird HOA; Dr. Cliff and Nadina Goodman Martin; Suzanne Kempton; Dwayne Dobson; and Barbara Knox.


Eastbound traffi c from Alma School Road is detoured south on Pleasant Drive, which turns into Orchid Lane, then north on Hartford Street and back to Knox Road, east of the closure.
