Rabbi Dr. Irwin Wiener T’sha B’Av discussion, video

More than 2,000 years ago, two holy temples in Jerusalem were destroyed. T’sha B’Av is the commemoration of the anniversary of the destruction, and Chabad Center for Jewish Life will have an evening of reading and discussion of Lamentations by candle light at 7:45 p.m., Mon, July 19. An educational video about the land of Israel, titled “Faithful and Fortifi ed” will also be shown. “During the day of mourning on the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av (July 19-20), we do not sit on a raised seat, to minimize our pleasure and to help us relive the diffi culty and the loss of the holy temple that stood in Jerusalem,” explains Rabbi Mendy Deitsch. “Come explore and learn about our Temple and home in Jerusalem.”

The service is free; RSVPs are appreciated. Chabad Center is located at 3875 W. Ray Rd., Suite 6 on the southeast corner at McClintock in Chandler. For more information, call 480-855-4333 or visit www.chabadcenter.com.
