Youth Hamilton High Huskies


Casino Night – The Viva Las Vegas Casino Night Fundraiser, benefiting the Hamilton High School football programs, is at 6 p.m. Sat., July 31 at the Hilton Chandler Hotel. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. with a “Vegas-style” pre-party followed by casino games from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and prizes given away at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 each, which include $100 gambling money vouchers, appetizers, two drink tickets and two raffle tickets. The Hilton Chandler Hotel is located at 2929 W. Frye Rd. in Chandler.

Bogle Bulldogs


Bulldog Day – Incoming seventh- and eighth-grade students pick up class schedules, find out about transportation, get school IDs, open lunch accounts, buy spirit wear and yearbooks and get walk-in athletic physicals during the annual Bulldog Day on Thu., July 22. Students with the last names beginning with A through L should attend between 8 and 10 a.m. Students with the last names beginning with M through Z should attend between 10 a.m. and noon. First day – The first day of school is Mon., July 26. Any student who wasn’t able to attend Bulldog Day can pick up a class schedule before school in the cafeteria. Open House – Parents should plan to attend the Open House on Thu., Aug. 12. Meet your teachers - Families with students in grades pre-K to sixth are invited to Meet the Teacher on Thu., July 22. Students with last names that begin with A - M will attend from 1 - 2:30 p.m. Students with last names that begin with N - Z will attend from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The Eagle Experience - Students in grades seven to 12 and their families are invited to attend The Eagle Experience on July 22 in the Larry Pieratt Activity Center. Students will meet their teachers, tour the school, sign up for clubs, learn about the athletic teams, purchase HCLC T-shirts, learn about upcoming drama productions, and much more. Middle school students will attend from 5 to 6 p.m., and high school students from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. High School textbooks - High school students must come to the Media Center from 8 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3:30 p.m. Fri., July 23 to pay their activity fees and pickup their textbooks. First day - The first day of school is Mon., July 26. Schedules are: Pre-kindergarten (morning) - 8 to 11 a.m. Pre-kindergarten (afternoon) - noon to 3 p.m. Half-day kindergarten - 8 to 10:45 a.m. Extended day kindergarten - 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grades 1-4 - 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grades 5-6 - 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Grades 7-12 - 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Break Time


The summer Break Time recreation magazine is available at City of Chandler facilities. Registration for all classes and programs is in progress at www.chandleraz.gov/registration.


The fall issue of Break Time will be available starting Friday, July 23. Fall registration begins Saturday, August 7 for residents (Friday, August 13 for non-residents).


End of Summer Teen Bash on July 23!


Chandler teens are invited to celebrate the end of summer with a free Teen Bash on Friday, July 23 from 5-9 p.m. at the Downtown Community Center at 125 E. Puppet Show at TRC


Tumbleweed Recreation Center partners with The Great Arizona Puppet Theater to present a showing of “Cinderella” for children five years old and younger with their parent or guardian on Wednesday, August 18 at 1 p.m. There is a $6 fee ($8 non-resident) and you can register at www.chandleraz.gov/breaktime or call 480-782-2900 for more information.

Special Olympics Football Travels to Nationals! The Chandler Therapeutic Recreation Division’s flag football team is


busy preparing to represent the City and Arizona at the Special Olympics National Games in Nebraska. The staff and team held several fundraisers the last few months to help cover travel expenses, and now they are ready to depart on July 17.
