Chandler Healthcare West East Valley offers a vast array of classes and support groups at Chandler Regional Medical Center during the month of July. Classes include:


Baby Your Baby, providing expectant parents with basic information about baby care, $20. Better Breathers Support Group, for patients with pulmonary disease, lung cancer or other breathing problems, and their family members; 2 to 3 p.m. third Wednesday of each month in the Morrison Board Room, 480-728-3256.


Birth Center tour, tour of the Family Birthing Center, free.


Boot Camp for New Dads, $20; Breast Cancer “Reaching Out” Support Group, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. second Monday of each month at Ahwatukee Foothills Health Center; contact Monica Krise at 470-728-3613. Breastfeeding Support Group, weekly support group for breastfeeding moms during baby’s first year of life, led by nationally certified lactation counselors, free. The Art of Breastfeeding, designed to support and educated expectant mothers about breastfeeding and its advantages, $25.


Camp Mercy Total Joint Replacement, prehabilitation exercise routine and instructions for preparation for surgery for the weeks just prior to surgery, free.


Childbirth Preparation, four-week course for expectant mothers and their coaches, taught by qualified instructors, one night a week for four weeks, $60.


Childbirth Refresher, for expectant mothers and coaches who have previously attended a childbirth class or experienced a birth, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on a Saturday, $30.


Neighbors CHW East Valley offers July programs


Living Your Life with Purpose, 12 workshops led by author Kirk Wilkinson and Spiritual Care Services, $10 per class.


Pediatric Basic Life Support, one-day course for new parents, babysitters and others interested in learning child and infant CPR and choking protocol, $20. Prenatal Seminar, two-week course for expectant mothers and their coaches, meets two consecutive Saturday mornings, $60.


Safe Sitter, two-day course for adolescents from 11 to 13 years of age, hands-on practice in basic lifesaving techniques from trained instructors, $60. Sibling Superstar, one-day course for children ages 3 to 8, preparing child siblings for changes a new baby brings, $10 per child.


T’ai Chi, a series of six weekly sessions teaching basic movements, 3 to 4 p.m. Mondays, $35, 480-728-3613. Teen Childbirth, four-week course designed exclusively for expecting teens and their coaches covering aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum recovery, free.


Support groups


Diabetes Outreach Support, for people with Type 1 or 2 diabetes, both newly diagnosed or seasoned veterans, ongoing informational session, free; and Diabetes Pumpers, open forum for people with Type 1 diabetes, newly diagnosed or seasoned veterans, facilitated by diabetes educators at Chandler Regional Medical Center, free.


Eat Well, Live Well, nutritional and behavioral aspects for good health for cancer patients, meeting at Chandler Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Center, info 480-728-3635.


General Cancer Support Group, 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Support Group, 6 to 7:30 p.m. third Wednesday of each month, Morrison Building; contact Monica Krise at 480-728-3613. Living with Loss Support Group, grief support group, free.


“Look Good … Feel Better,” a program of the American Cancer Society, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. first Monday of every other month, Morrison building, registration required; register with Monica Krise at 480-728-3613.


Mind Body Skills Groups, small groups teaching self-awareness, relaxation and meditation to help deal with cancer, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, pain and other life stressors, two-hour classes for 10 weeks, participants must commit to attend all 10 sessions; register with Monica Krise at 480-728-3613. New Mom Support Group, for new moms and their infants through age 12 months, free.


Orthopedic Teaching Class, a variety of speakers covering topics from pre-operative procedures to post-operative exercises, free.


Ostomy Support Group, 7 p.m. fourth Monday of each month, Morrison Board Room; contact Karen Davila at 480-728-3836.


Pregnancy and Postpartum Adjustment Support Group, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
