To celebrate 30 years in business ‘Ettrick Valley’, one of Scotland’s leading producers of printed cotton tea towels, aprons and bags have opened a shop in Station Road in the listed Building of Forest Mill in Selkirk. Many local people have always bought Ettrick Valley products from ‘Ettrick Forest Interiors’ next door, but now they have created their very own place adjacent to the popular fabric shop. Their tea towel range is superb and can be seen all over Scotland in Gift shops, Visitor centres and Historical buildings. They also make exclusive special designs for such places as Abbotsford, Thirlestane, and Edinburgh Castle to name but a few. Local designer Bryan Hoggan has created many fabulous designs in his near 20 year service to the company, including Selkirk and Scottish Borders tea towels which are sent all over the world to family and friends. “We strive to be the best and to look after our customers well” said partner Sue Kemp. “We take great pleasure in providing specials for local schools and charities here in the Borders and throughout the country”. It’s lovely to have a little showcase for their products here in the Borders where people can see the full range and also find a bargain on the seconds shelves. New designs for man size Kilt and Scots Tongue Cotton Aprons have proved popular and are brilliant for the BBQ season. Also the environmentally friendly Calico bags are also a big hit with customers.
