The local charity,based at The George Hurd Centre, in Audley Way, Basildon, can help you with arange of issues, or guide you to the appropriate local or national organisation that can help. The national Age Concerncharity has arange


of helpful services, and can also guide you in dealing with the Benefit Agency,Social Services and other statutory organisations. If you arelooking for help around the home it


also has alist of approved and certified trades people, including hairdressers and chiropodists, as well as alist of approved local gardeners and handymen. The local charity also runs atelephone ‘Befriending Service’ which provides aregular contact for those who arelonely or housebound. It is just launched an Outreach Surgery at Priority House, Lower Southend Road, Basildon, from 10.30am to noon on the first Wednesday of each month.
