“Thumbs up, a big thumbs up to the Aarron Cutler Memorial Library and it’s wonderful staff. Since moving to Litchfield 15 years ago, I have found the librarians who work there to consistently display the utmost in professionalism and a true love of literature. They have spent many hours with me and my family helping us pick out books they thought we would enjoy as well as exposing us to new authors and genres. If you have visited the library, I’m sure you understand my thoughts, and if not you are missing one of Litchfield’s gems. Thank you to Vicki, Alex, Carrie- Anne, Caitlyn, Callie, and Amy, you have truly enriched our lives.”
Thumbs Up? Thumbs Down? “We want to be your Mechanic”
and litter the butts and walk their little dachshund dog and don’t clean up after it. Smoking is gross and will kill you and please follow the law and pick up the poop. Your mother will be disappointed when she finds out.”
“Thumbs down to the dog
“Thumbs down to Obama. So, what exactly is Obama’s agenda? Do you still believe that the Democratic Party is a party of the people? Think again. Being a retired school teacher and a democrat most of my life, this administration is FAR from being the Democratic Party we once knew. It is a Progressive (Liberal) Party out to ‘transform’ us away from the Capitalism form of government that got us here for the past 200 years. Obama and his administration want no part of the people but what they are striving for is POWER. Power derived from our tax dollars collected as a result of all these programs that are being ramrodded through Congress. All this money in the hands of bureaucrats throughout the country will be funneled to special interest groups strengthening and ensuring their power and control. Get the picture? So, does Obama really care about YOU and ME? Stay tuned.”
“Thumbs down to the inconsiderate neighbor
who is always having her landscaping company start at 8 AM. Friday the 3rd they started at 7:50. Some people take that day off as a long weekend. There are infants, cancer and heart patients, elderly and pregnant people in the neighborhood but you can’t think of your neighbors. If you are so concerned for your yard why when you have a perfectly good driveway do you park all your cars on your front lawn? Just start trying to think of your neighbors and be considerate. The landscaper actually rides his stand up ride on lawn mower around the neighborhood disturbing everyone just to get from your back to your front yard. I know the noise ordinance says you can start at 8 and that might be tolerated once or twice but this has been going on for years. It’s time to be nice and be considerate.”
owner on Melody Lane! It is a shame that I can no longer walk my dog on the once so beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The last two times I went on that street I had a nasty beagle chase us and try to bite my dog. If the owner thinks his dogs stay in that yard, he is wrong. What is wrong with the owners? Multiple people have been attacked by just walking by. Keeping those dogs locked outside all day while you work is not a good idea. It is only making them more territorial. If you do not have time to spend with your animals, at least find them a home with people who have time for them.”
“Thumbs down to the misrepresentation of facts presented as quotes by the North East White Pride group. The Swine Flu was NOT spread to the U.S. by illegal immigrants, but carried by U.S. citizens traveling for vacations as reported by a multitude of news media groups. Health care is NOT withheld from U.S. citizens and doled out to illegal immigrants. At NH Health Access for example, health care is given regardless of race to people who cannot otherwise afford it. An increase in crime, drugs, graffiti and violence does NOT occur
knows how to take proper care of animals.”

“Thumbs up to all illegals living in and around the Hudson area. Thanks to them, you have clean toilets at your local stores, offices, hospitals etc. They’re also the ones behind the scenes at your favorite restaurants cooking your food. The illegals you complain about are the ones that do the jobs citizens don’t! And kudos to the citizens that don’t look down on jobs even if it is cleaning toilets. I would also love to see the people from the North East White Pride to go stand in front of city hall in Nashua, if you really want to be heard, go to Nashua.”
“Thumbs down, way down to the NH Grizzlies for only caring about money, and not giving one thought
to the feelings of the poor kids on their teams. Very unprofessional, poor bookkeeping. Parents thinking

because of an increase in illegal immigrants. It most often correlates with an increase of people who have fallen on hard financial times, as many people in our current economy currently find themselves. I urge people to research reputable sources before blindly charging people with all of the ills of society. I have known people here illegally. In most cases they had arrived legally, and stayed longer than their visas allowed in order to escape situations that most people of sound mind would try to escape. All of them have appreciated the freedoms and lack of impending violence we enjoy in this country. Think about it, if you were in a country illegally, wouldn’t you be a model citizen in order to stay under the radar so you wouldn’t be shipped out of here? God bless America and the light of hope and justice we shine out to the world.”
“Thumbs up to coach Brian Cabral and assistants and the Mariners. We are proud of all the players”
“Thumbs up to the guys who had the guts to stand at the intersection with a big sign that said ‘Deport Illegals.’
It’s about time someone
supports an actual solution to our immigration woes! I hope some politicians drove by and got the message.”

“Thumbs down, way down to that ‘North East White Pride’ article on the front page! I don’t care how anyone spins that article because it sounds racist. Furthermore, the picture looks racist with those 2 guys wearing a red bandana and a red tie, very poor taste. If this group is truly racially neutral then change their name to ‘North East American Pride.’ Moreover, printing that filth supports their ‘White Pride’ views.
“Thumbs down to HLN. We get 6 or seven morons that want to hold a white power rally and you have to; 1) give them any attention at all and 2) put them on the front page. These losers would not bother to waste their time if they got 0 attention, yet your story being on the front page only serves to give them credence and encourages their behavior. Great job HLN.”
“Thumbs down to the young teenage brother & sister on Oban Drive who smoke cigarettes

“Thumbs down Litchfield. Enough is enough
fireworks. No fewer than 10 of our neighbors think that freedom means imposing noise on other neighbors. With lack of rain, frightened animals, continuous smoke wafting into our home, fire danger, why isn’t this practice banned in our residential community? It’s an archaic practice. Each year fireworks get louder and stronger. And, it goes on for weeks, at all hours. Freedom does not mean disturbing the peace. I doubt that people setting off fireworks have any real understanding of what Independence Day stands for other than trying to impress their kids with loud bangs.”
“Thumbs up: to the Supreme Court for its June 28th decision (McDonald V Chicago). Well at least the 5 Justices who correctly interpreted the U.S. Constitution. As for the other

4 Justices, they should be impeached and removed from the Court. It is quite apparent that those 4 used political, not constitutional reasons to reach their decision.”
“Thumbs up to everyone who stopped at my daughters lemonade stand on Central Street on the fourth of July! She was very happy to raise enough money for her super soaker and donate the rest to the ‘kitty angels.’ Thanks for your good spirits!”
“Thumbs up to Jim and Doug from the
Litchfield Fire Department for coming out to our house when we were locked out and helping us get back in. We greatly appreciate all of the work that you did for us. You were both so professional and courteous. Thanks again.”
“Thumbs up to having one

Highway department for spending not only the time, but overtime? and money on the plants at the intersection of Lowell Rd & Central St. This will be destroyed with all the excessive use of salt/ sand spread on our roads in the winter months not to mention at how far they spread it due the crazy speed that they drive those plows. We’ll be paying overtime in the spring to clean it up. The barrels of flowers were beautiful and a much better fit for Hudson.”
“Thumbs down to my neighbors who think it’s okay to light camp fires during the heat wave and smoke up my home. I don’t have the luxury of closing the windows and turning on the AC. It’s 90 degrees in my house and now I have to deal with your smoke in my house. Shame on you!”
“Thumbs down to lighting fires on Sanders Road during the heat wave. It’s bad enough the neighborhood has to deal with the dust from all the road construction, now the smoke from the nightly fires ends up in our homes. We, neighbors have to suffer and close our windows because most of us don’t have air-conditioning. You’re also creating a fire danger; it hasn’t rain in long time and all the vegetation is dry.”

“Thumbs up to Cynthia with the Hudson Post Office - she could have just walked away and told me I was too late to get my mail just after 6pm on Saturday but, she went back into the building and got my mail for me. I hope she had a wonderful weekend- THANK YOU!!!”
“Thumbs down to the mail carrier covering
my injured mailman’s route. She decided that because we were having a yard sale she wouldn’t even attempt to deliver our mail on Saturday. We were even walking towards the mail truck as she approached our house, she sped right by. I then spent the next 3 hours trying to figure out how to obtain my mail for that day.”
“Thumbs up to The Hudson Fire Department for
a very quick response to a fire in our apartment building, Linbar property management for going above and beyond in their care . This is obviously a Landlord that cares about their tenants. And a big ‘thumbs up’ to Josh, Lisa and Lalani for helping out and being amazing neighbors and great property caretakers. Also thank you to Brian Mason, for being there and making sure we were safe, secure and comforted.”
“Thumbs down to the irresponsible dog owner on Highland Street that left their dog chained out during 100 degree temperatures. I can only hope that someday you’ll be forced to endure such horrible conditions with no way out! If you do not want this dog, give him to someone who

“Thumbs up to the people who cleaned Darrah pond in Litchfield. Thanks for all people who take pride and pleasure in the service of their fellow man.”
“Thumbs up to the Hudson police. Contrary to the person or persons talking you down, I have never seen a better group of police in my life. I should know, did not mean to, but I gave you some trouble back in September, you did not deserve it, but you stated ‘I was more concerned about you than myself’ but with a cynical response I said ‘ya, right!’ I may never see you again but thank you for doing what can often be a thankless job. To: C. Manni and Adam L.”
“Thumbs up to my neighbor who installed an additional spotlight pointing to my home and yard! This second spotlight provides much needed security free of charge for me! Cheers neighbor!”
“Thumbs down to the person who keeps writing
every week about obama and healthcare. Maybe he should ask Vice President Cheney how he feels about government controlled healthcare, it kept him alive. I have a pre-existing condition is that something this man doesn’t like? that people with preexisting conditions can be covered, or maybe he doesn’t like the fact that 26-year-olds can be covered, how about the fact that there is no more cap on health insurance, I think that he is really offbase, he needs to think about the regular people including Vice President Cheney.”
“Thumbs down to the people who came to clean my carpets
