Make-Up and Hair for the Theatre and Film National Diploma (Level 3)


This is an opportunity to learn the skills that will enable you to enter the exciting world of theatre and film as a makeup/hair artist. You will get involved in the organisation of a series of performances at the college theatre and outside venues and will work as part of a professional production team. You will be taught by professionals from the hair and beauty, complementary therapy and performing arts industries.

The course involves a challenging mix of performance production and business skills with specialist units including makeup and full body makeup for performers, special effects makeup,


make-up using prosthetics, fantasy hair design for performers, hair styling and dressing for performers, Indian head massage and reflexology.


Assessment The process of assessment uses a range of assessment methods, including assignments, and practical works.

Entry requirements Education: A related level 2 qualification like NVQ level 2 or overseas equivalent and/or relevant work experience.


Level of English: IELTS: 5.5 (5.0 minimum in each section) or equivalent.
