Music Technology BTEC (Edexcel) National Diploma (Level 3)


This course is aimed at students who wish to advance their skills and technical knowledge in music technology and production with a view to gaining a qualification that will enable them to progress onto a higher level qualification, or seek employment in the music technology industry. This course prepares you for entry into university to continue studying to degree level, or to employment in the music technology industry.


Course Content Using our industry standard equipment, you will develop your skills in sequencing, sampling, recording, mixing and mastering, resulting in music production of high standard. Alongside these practical technical elements, you will study the workings of the music industry, music keyboard skills and compositional skills.


Assessment You will be assessed based on a range of methods including assignments and presentations.


Entry Requirements


This programme is for students not older than 20 years.


Education: A good high school leaving certificate (at least year 12) or equivalent or relevant work experience. Acceptance on this course is subject to proof of qualification. You must bring a CV of recent work to your interview. Your music must demonstrate at lease a basic understanding of commonly used sequencing software (Cubase or Logic for example).


Level of English: IELTS score 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each section) or equivalent.


Career Opportunities BTEC Higher National Certificate level 4 or university.
