Art & Design Foundation Diploma (Level 3)
This course is intended to enable you to progress on to a B.A. (Hons) Degree or Foundation Degree courses in a wide range of Art, Craft and Design specialisms.
Course Content The structure of the programme enables you to make a valid and informed choice of specialist for progression. The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Course comprises of 9 units which are: Information and Research, Recording and Responding, Media Experimentation, Information and Interpretation, Personal Experimental Studies, Extended Media Development in Art & Design, Preparation and Progression, Integrating Theory and Practice and Personal Confirmatory Study. You will learn about Drawing & Painting, Fashion Design, 3D Spatial Design, Photography, Graphic Design, Health & Safety, the Work of Other Artists, Designers and
Drafts People. This course includes opportunities for key skills in Information Technology, Literacy and Application of number.
Assessment You will be assessed based on a range of assessment methods including assignments and presentations.
Entry Requirements
Education: A university foundation diploma or overseas equivalent or related work, courses or experience. You will need to present a portfolio of relevant work or will be given an assignment to complete in order to assess your level of skills in Art and/or Design disciplines.
Level of English: IELTS score 5.5 (minimum 5.0 in each section) or equivalent.
Career Opportunities Progression to B.A. (Hons) Degree or Foundation Degree courses in a wide range of Art, Craft and Design specialisms.
