ACCESS to
Higher Education (Level 3) Course Content:
These are intensive one-year courses in a variety of subjects designed for students over 19 years who want to go on to higher education, but who may not have the traditional university entry qualifications. Tutorial sessions will facilitate your UCAS applications.
Subjects offered on ACCESS courses:
• Business Studies • Law
• Media
• Humanities and Social Sciences
• Health Science • Nursing
• Performing Arts • Social Care • Teaching
Business Studies Students will study IT and specialist Business units including Marketing, Planning, Strategy, Operations, Business Environment, Human Resources and Finance to prepare them for degree study.
Law
The course provides you with a core of study skills, tutorial, IT and specialist law units (legal research skills, criminal law, tort, sources of law and common/contact/ employment law) to prepare you for degree study.
Media
The ACCESS to Media course combines theoretical and practical approaches to the study of modern media technologies. It will prepare you for higher education with study skills and IT. You will learn how to write features and news articles, make digital films and design and create multimedia web pages.
Humanities and Social Sciences
Humanities and Social Sciences students choose three subjects from the following list: Historical Studies, Literatures, Linguistics, Sociology, Psychology
