FESTIVAL CLUB

St Alphege’s Church, off Palace Street

The Festival Club is the heart of the Festival action: a great place to enjoy top quality live music events every night in an intimate setting. Relaxed and informal, a bar service runs throughout the show. One of the most popular venues at the Festival – book early to guarantee entry! Doors open 30 minutes before shows begin. See p.44 for places to eat beforehand.

Zoo for You

Infectiously fun and unrelentingly catchy, Zoo for You fuse elements of hip hop, funk, dub and afrobeat with enough driving backbeats and hooks to keep any indie fan happy. The diverse influences of ZFY’s eight members are united by the commitment to creating an exhilarating live experience.

Chris Wood Heralded as ‘the renaissance man of English folk’, Chris Wood was voted Singer of the Year in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2009. Always direct and unafraid to speak his mind, his song writing has been praised for its surgical clarity and his gift for lyrical understatement.

‘Highly charged observations on life, love and country’ (MOJO)

Sunday 17 October 8pm

Tickets £10 Kieran Goss

Ireland’s superstar singer-songwriter Kieran Goss has quietly and consistently delivered songs of rare quality over the last twenty years at home and in Germany, but remains largely undiscovered in the UK. His wonderful, deceptively simple melodies, charming stories and self deprecating humour are irresistible. Trust us – this is one not to miss.

‘The sense of fun is tremendous, the playing first rate and the songs are sheer quality. The encores were genuine, but only because the man is too.’ (The Irish Times)

Monday 18 October 8.30pm
