Train to Gain
Through the Train to Gain initiative, adult learners who qualify for free tuition for Level 2 and 3 programmes followed in their workplace will not have to pay any further costs (including materials costs and Awarding Body fees). Please enquire on 01604 734 323 to discuss eligibility.
Material Costs
Additional costs for materials specified in this brochure are payable at enrolment. Where materials are provided by the College, the costs of these are shown in this directory in the ‘Materials’ column. However, you may be required to purchase additional materials prior to and during your course – these are coded with an ‘M’ – and how much you spend depends on the materials you require. Your tutor will be able to advise you.
Reduction in Tuition Fees
Courses marked with an “A” in the fund column lead to an external Awarding Body accredited qualification and are subsidised by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA). These courses are subject to a final assessment or examination. Learners who do not take the assessment or examination may not benefit from the subsidy and may have to pay the full tuition cost (price on application).
Courses marked with a “B” do not lead to an external awarding body accredited qualification but are subsidised by the SFA.
Courses marketed with a “C” do not lead to an external Awarding Body accredited qualification and fee reduction is not available.
Courses marked with a “D” lead to an external Awarding Body accredited qualification and fee reduction is offered to 16-18 year old learners only.
Courses marked with an “E” lead to an external Awarding Body accredited qualification but fee reduction is not available.
If you would like to use your benefit status to claim a reduction in tuition fees, then please bring current original proof that you are in receipt of that benefit when you enrol. We cannot offer fee reduction if we do not see this evidence. A JS40 booklet is not acceptable evidence for Job Seekers Allowance (JSA). Please obtain a letter from the Employment Service stating that you are in receipt of JSA.
Fund codes “A”, “B” and “D” are for permanent UK/EU residents. If you are not a permanent UK/EU resident a higher rate of fee will be payable. Please enquire on 0845 300 4401.
