Legislation regarding Distance Selling
Should you wish to enrol by telephone, your consumer rights will be protected by the Distance Selling Regulations.
Part-Payment of Tuition Fees
If your course lasts for at least six months, you can pay for the cost of your course over three months. Where the Tuition Fee, Award Registration Fee and Award Certificate Fee total more than £100 there is an additional charge of £15 for this facility. For fees under £100, the additional charge is £5. Please add up the Tuition Fee, Award Registration Fee and Award Certificate Fee, plus the £5/£15 charge, then bring along 50% of the total cost to enrol. You must enrol in person to sign the payment plan.
It is general college policy not to give refunds except in the following circumstances:
• The course is cancelled by the College (full refund)*
• The course is closed before the planned end date (partial refund)*
• Medical reasons (a doctor’s note will be required)*
* Your statutory rights are not affected.
Learning Agreement As part of the enrolment process you are required to sign and date a section that relates to the Learning Agreement Declaration and Data Protection Act.

Awarding Body / Assessment Fee
If a course leads to a formally recognised qualification, then there will be an Awarding Body fee to pay in addition to the Tuition Fee. The ‘Award Reg. Fee’ and ‘Award Cert. Fee’ columns (see table on page 16) refer to exam entry, assessment, registration and/ or certification amounts payable at enrolment. Award fees charged to learners are set by the College and include charges made by the Awarding and Assessment Body, plus a small administration fee. If the column ‘Award Reg. Fee’ shows ‘PROF’, this indicates that a registration fee needs to be paid direct to an external awarding body. The amount payable will be advised when receiving course guidance by a tutor. There may be other awarding body fees payable during the course, which your tutor will advise you about.
Please Note: Some qualifications will have awarding body fees, coded ‘E’ in the awarding body column, which are payable during the course of your study. The amount payable will be advised by your tutor.
