Also, 48% of our officer promotions were women and 26% were minorities. In addition, our staff includes individuals who come from dozens of nations and speak many languages.

Networking & Education Freddie Mac supports growth and

engagement through its employee network groups. Each of our seven groups works vigorously to ensure that employees understand and appreciate the various cultures in the workplace. Groups host frequent events that include speaking engagements, leadership panels, career coaching and other cultural activities. Recent activities for ARISE (Promoting Personal and Professional Growth for African Americans) have included guest speakers presenting on topics such as: African American ancestry, African American entrepreneurs, and a Freddie Mac African American Executive Panel Discussion focused on professional development and advancement. We’ve also launched an Employee Network Mentoring Program, enabling network members to become mentees and select mentors from across the company. Last year, more than 40% of our work- force participated in diversity education and training. Freddie Mac offers a wide variety of programs, with topics that include “cross- cultural competency”, “unconscious bias”, “micro-inequities”, “cross-generational workforce”, as well as self-efficacy training across demographic groups.”

initiatives. Freddie Mac University (FMU), the company’s integrated online and instructor-led learning curriculum provides learning and leadership development opportunities in a variety of areas. We also provide development opportunities through our “Leadership Talent Review” Succession Planning Program. Using this process, we identify high-potential employees for open positions, create customized development plans and recommend opportunities for external executive education, coaching, mentoring, 360 degree feedback and strategic job assignments.

In addition, we encourage employees to participate in external professional development programs of organizations such as National Black MBA, National Association of Black Accountants and Executive Leadership Council. Freddie Mac has established long-term relationships with these and other groups, and often participates in and supports their events.
