The Okeechobee Brahman FFA chapter has selected Paige Arnold as our FFA student of the month. Paige has

never been recognized by the chapter for her active par- ticipation until now, so this is long overdue.

To tell a little about Paige’s background, she comes from a family of four. She has a little brother named Preston and her parents own their own tractor business, G&K Trac- tor Service. She enjoys playing volley ball and has been the number one female golfer at the high school for two years. She is also the president of the Swine Time 4-H club. Paige plans to attend IRSC for two years and then obtain her bachelor’s degree in landscape design and architecture at the University of Florida. Paige has been maintaining a grass growing project with her father since the age of

The Lake Placid High School FFA recently held their end of the year banquet. Many stu-

dents, parents, and community members were recognized for their contributions to the chapter. Tey awarded the Honorary Farmer degree to Rev. Richard Norris, a school board member who has volunteered many hours with the chapter’s fundraising efforts and projects. ten. She also volunteers at Flower Petals in Okeechobee as an apprentice flower arranger. She is taking advan- tage of the horticulture program at the high school and will be certified as a Nursery Professional by FNGLA if she passes the exam at the end of the year.

It is evident that all Paige’s activities revolve around her ultimate career goal. She feels passionately about the FFA and is glad to be a part of an organization that

meets her needs. Paige participates in land judging, nursery and landscape as well as Ornamental Horticulture demonstrations in FFA. “FFA has taught me more than just information about agri- culture. It is helping me reach my goals,” explains Paige. Tank you, Paige, for all of your hard work in our chapter.
