2009 Aided by a ranger from Monikie and some
eager school pupils, the location for the pond was established and digging began. However, it wasn’t long until the first challenge was uncovered. Brian Rice of GSK explained, “We got about six inches deep before we hit what we first thought was concrete, but turned out to be rubble. Tere must have been a building there which had been demolished and allowed to grow over. We made great progress during the afternoon to create the pond.”
