Note that radiation is not effective on unclean tools. 6- If you come across a customer with skin disease (e.g ring worm) take special care of the used tools. Wash and sanitize both hands and tools after each service. 7- Always use specifically formulated desinfectant solutions approved by the FDA (eg. BARBICIDE), to sanitize your tools. BARBICIDE kills HIV1 (Aids Virus) and HBV on pre-cleaned environmental-surfaces and objects previously soiled with blood and body fluids. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use. Always remember that chemicals lose their efficacy /strength with time. 8- Dirty towels and gowns must be stored separately. Do not mix them with clean ones.

General cleanliness & environmental health The following are the environmental and health-safety requirements for gents and ladies salon: 1- The shop should be spacious enough to have separate work areas and customer waiting room. The hair cutting area should be minimum 1 meter apart. Furniture should be very well maintained and clean. 2- The lighting should be sufficient to see clearly and perform work easily.


3- Ventilation or air conditioning system should be always provided. 4- Tiled floor should be provided to facilitate frequent cleaning and disinfecting. 5- Do not allow hair to remain on the floor after attending every client. Store the hair in containers and disposable waste bags and disinfect the storing place/containers on regular basis.

* Always keep complete first aid box to treat small cuts and wounds. * Alum (shaba) is a disposable item and cannot be used on more than one person, to avoid infections.
