July 27 – August 8 Young Frankenstein Mel Brooks’ 1974 comedy classic Young Frankenstein receives a musical makeover at the Pantages Theatre, located at 6233 Hollywood Blvd. in Hollywood. The 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award winner for Best Musical, features memorable moments from the motion picture, combined with the show stopping tunes, “Transylvania Mania” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz.” This re-imagined version relays how Dr. Frankenstein’s (he prefers the pronunciation of Fronkensteen) grandson brings his grandfather’s creature creation back to life, despite the fact that he has attempted to distance himself from that particular legacy in his capac- ity as a scientist of the non-mad variety.
