I currently own Porsches and Audis. I’ve owned other luxury cars as well, including BMWs and Acuras. All of the vehicles were purchased new and came with factory warranties. Your Porsche service department – in particular
Ken Wilson and David Stout – is the best I’ve encoun- tered. Those guys are on top of their game: friendly, competent, courteous, professional, accommodating. Whenever I consider straying from the Porsche fold, I feel loyalty to the brand and your franchise because I know they will take care of me. Andy Chenoweth
any people travel for business or pleasure. From an athletic stand- point, trips threaten to derail one’s level of physical fitness. Taking off too much time may lead to a lack of energy while calorie consumption continues to mount. Rather than abandon a planned vacation, consider exercising with Pilates while away. The core stability, flexibility and strengthened abdominals Pilates provides is a welcome addition to any travel plans, as well as home stays. It can be performed anywhere, at any time. It is low impact.
Before zipping up the suitcase, do note that while equipment is not necessary, it can inspire. Therabands are light and increase resistance and help participants target specific muscles. A magic circle is not as easy to ignore as the bands, and further raises the commitment factor. Therabands, weighted balls, and magic circles are for sale through the Pilates department; contact Joanna Pivo at 503-517-7550.

A travel routine might include the following list of exercises. Do refer to a Pilates tutorial or check with an instructor for tips on technique. First, warm up the core to establish torso and pelvic stability, abdominal engagement, and proper align- ment. Choose two to three of these. • Imprinting engages the abs and spine, encourages centering, reduces stress; • Arm reach and pull to develop shoulder placement; • Pelvic curl to engage the spine; • Swan prep for back extension; and • Wall roll down Then a beginner’s series could encompass: • Chest lift; • The hundred; • Roll up; • One leg circle; • Rolling like a ball; • Open leg balance; • Side kick series; • Plank; and • Saw
The human body was made to move. Exercise that right. The human mind craves stimulation and change, which travel provides. Exercise that right, too. For more information on Pilates, call 503-517-7550 or go to
